What is coaching?

It is a fact that people who set themselves goals and have a direction in life are more successful and content than those who don't.

Identifying your goals and then pursuing them is something many people often find difficult to do on their own, or even consider doing.

Coaching is a process where your coach helps you to clarify where you are in your life and where you really want to go. Then the Coach helps you get there!

With the encouragement and support of your Coach, you will start to make the important changes you need to achieve your goals.

How does coaching work?

Working with a qualified Coach gives you the focus you need to stay on track and change your life for the better.

Agreed tasks and decisions made in the session are carried out by you before the next session. This gives you motivation to complete things on schedule.

Coaching is a non-critical, non-judgemental and confidential process. Your Coach is there to ask questions, to encourage you, to help you develop your own skills and talents in a way that is life-changing and empowering.

What coaching is not

Coaching is not tutoring or mentoring.

A qualified coach will never tell you what to do. Coaching is all about your goals and your ideas about where your life should lead you next. A good Coach is not interested in their own agenda. All the focus in each coaching session is 100% about you.

How is coaching done?

Personal Coaching can be done in person or conducted by telephone, making it potentially possible for a coach to work with anyone, anywhere.

Duration and schedule of sessions can be arranged to suit the individual or company.

Group Coaching can be provided for a specific number of people or departmental team.

What is coaching useful for?

Coaching can be used to improve any areas of a person's life. It can be used in a general, life-enhancing way or address specific matters. These can include:

  • Finance and wealth

  • Personal growth

  • Relationships
  • Family and parenting
  • Leisure
  • Creativity
  • Personal projects or objectives

How many sessions?

Coaching is best done over a period of time.

The number of sessions required will vary with each person and the challenges faced. Sessions are typically weekly but there can be a longer or shorter gap depending on individual needs or circumstances.

A minimum of 6 sessions is needed to really benefit from the process, but 12 sessions or more will give the best results. Individual sessions are useful, after a prolonged coaching period, to keep you on track. A good coach will always tell you if they think that you have had enough coaching.

Personal coaching or group coaching?

Personal Coaching is for one client, with only the coach involved in the process.

Group Coaching can be done with a team in a business or other setting where the Coach guides the group through a general process to identify their needs and goals. Follow-up sessions can be done to report back and build on the team's successes.
